Day 1: Checkin

Day 2: Sunrise/Sunset Safari drive, boat safari and Zulu dancing cultural experience.

Day 3-4: Rhino rescue project

Participants will join our Wildlife Management Team for a rhino dehorning and medical check up operation. Rhino dehorning has proven to be an effective measure to deter rhino poaching. We therefore invite you to join us and participate in a hands-on experience with rhinos in the wild. You will get up close to wild rhinos whilst assisting the team in collecting DNA samples (hair and blood samples) and taking measurements, all of this contributing to the protection of the species. The procedure is not harmful in any way and our veterinarians and wildlife management team are highly experienced ensuring the welfare of the rhinos during the procedure. Other activities include feeding grass to all the rhinos and hippos that are still recovering from their injuries. Participants will also assist with any other day to day activities/duties that are needed at the time (i.e. cleaning rhino enclosures and ICU units, helping to prepare food for the rhinos etc.). On the last day, participants will visit one of the early learning centres or primary schools that we support - you will be assisting with delivering food supplies, working in the vegetable gardens and painting.

Day 5: Checkout. For those who have booked a trip extension (see options below) transfers will be arranged.
